Kanpur Dehat is a district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. The district headquarters is Mati .The state government had divided Kanpur district into two districts, Kanpur Nagar and Kanpur Dehat. District Kanpur Dehat was renamed as Ramabai Nagar by the notification dated 01.07.2010, which was again renamed as Kanpur Dehat in the year 2012. The district Kanpur Dehat is situated in the lower part of the Ganges and Yamuna doabs. The district is bounded by 05 districts of the state namely Hamirpur, Jalaun, Auraiya, Kannauj and Kanpur Nagar. The district is bounded by Kannauj district in the west north, Auraiya in the west, Hamirpur in the southeast, Kanpur Nagar in the northeast and Jalaun in the south. The district has 06 tehsils namely Bhognipur, Akbarpur, Derapur, Sikandara, Rasoolabad and Maitha and 10 development blocks namely Amroha, Malasa, Derapur, Jhinjhak, Akbarpur, Sarwan Kheda, Rajpur, Sandalpur, Rasoolabad and Maitha.
